CBS' Sherlock by XDeidaraXD CBS' Sherlock by XDeidaraXD
English:
This is not very serious, but I'm quite indignant about it. And why we be angry with the American adaptation of Sherlock? Because it¡s called PLAGIARISM.
Nevertheless, I don't want to start a quarrel, so don't leave any negative comments here, please! I don't intend to hurt anyone! And if I did, my apologies.

 What's next? "Doctor Who"? Oh wait! they tried  ripping that back in the 90s with the tv movie and it didn't work (but still anything can happen. it's been a while since then.)

¿plagio?

I hear that CBS has a female Watson. In Sherlock BBC they did gender bend John's sibling in the unaired pilot in the book John had a brother

Female watson's been done at least twice before, and it's been horrible every time. thye wanna do it to set up a romantic interest between what was a straight man, and a statically not interested classic character.

agreed, though what is plagiarism means any way? all I don't want is the american take away our favorite BBC SH though the SH film guys are taking a very long lunch break right now till 2013. The Aussies over here only want season 3 SH but don't want an other copy of SH over again. BBC has two SH already, the 19th century and 21st century. I'm happy for the BBC SH now but don't want the american ABC to take over cause BBC already own the copyrights of SH, so piss off to the USA cowboys if they want to do a new version of SH. :)

Dear Deidara:

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I've written a journal entry about this.

Ms. Liu has no right bearing the name of Watson! We know OUR John is a proud veteran of the Afghan war and the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers. He fought with bravery, guts, courage and never once did anything to embarrass England or his regiment. We're proud to have him on England's side.

I hope the series is a stillbirth!

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

I don't. I refuse to accept her
as any version of Watson. Beyond
that, I don't think that she has
enough experience to do such a big
part. I Just don't like any of it.

This is ridiculously frustrating. First, they give us Yanks a poorly edited PBS version so that those of us who care have to watch it on Netflix, then they rip it off.

Seriously, most Americans don't like American TV nowadays. Howabout CBS focuses on making good original shows instead of making a knock-off that isn't going to look good in comparison to the original?

Well, my favorites have all since been cancelled. I loved Stargate SG-1 to little bits and pieces, and the Closer is good too (and also either over or almost over). But I don't get to watch much TV lately anyway.

Wait, is Stargate technically Canadian?

This hurts my heart... I might give it a shot if I can stomach the cast. Honestly, what I'm most worried about is what they'll do to Watson. I've got this awful feeling that they'll mess his character up, making him a cheesy sidekick of the comic relief. If they can't get Watson right like Martin Freeman succeeded in doing(just the right amount of everyman+wit+BAMF), well, I'm pretty sure it won't last very long.

I'm English, so if I can get the channel i'll still have a looksie...if only to see how bad it is in comparison. I think it's unfair to jump to conclusions too early.
...HOWEVER....I am pretty irritated that CBS feel the need to reinvent something that is already in motion (and being done superbly!) how do they expect to better it!? They won't be getting brownie points for originality =.=
what's funny is that J.L.M and B.C have previously worked together in Frankenstein.... hope there's no bad blood between them now ;P

And I totally agree with you. What should dissapoint us is the fact that they are quite plagiating BBC's series.
I heard something about that before, and I wonder how is feeling the actor right now. I mean, he is always a step behind Benedict LOL

It's so frustrating, as the CBS asked BBC to create and American copy basically, and BBC said no....and what has CBS done; gone and done it anyway! =.=
Suffice to say: BBC is just waiting for the opportunity to sue ;P

There's an american adaptation? I'm american, and I'm embarassed...there is absolutely nothing they can do to be as good as the BBC.
Actually, in all honesty, there's a rather limited selection if you want good american television. And I mean REALLY limited.
The BBC is where it's at.
